Lauren Redniss on set of film adaptation of ‘Radioactive’ directed by Marjane Satrapi

Author and artist Lauren Redniss posted pictures of herself on the set of the upcoming film adaptation of her graphic novel Radioactive, in Budapest. The graphic novel follows the story of Marie & Pierre Curie, documenting the turbulent love affair between the two and their scientific breakthroughs. The graphic novel was published in 2010 by It Books and was a National Book Award finalist.

To further the acclaim of this production, the award-winning graphic novelist and director Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis,  Embroideries, Chicken with Plums) is directing.

As reported Rosamund Pike will be playing Marie Curie alongside Sam Riley as Pierre Curie. Also in the cast is Anya Taylor-Joy (Irene), Aneurin Barnard (Paul Langevin)

and Simon Russell Beale ( Professor Lippmann). The graphic novel has been adapted by Jack Thorne who also is working on the His Dark Material and Sandman adaptation.

The film is being produced by Studio Canal, Working Title Films, and Shoebox Films.
