Summary: ALEX + ADA, a sci-fi/drama set in the near future. The last thing in the world Alex wanted was an X5, the latest in realistic androids. But after Ada is dropped into his life, he discovers she is more than just a robot. Alex takes a huge risk to unlock Ada so she can think for herself and explore life as a sentient android. Can they survive the consequences?
Notes: This story follows Alex, a human that lives in a world where people to live alongside robots. These robots are there to help make life easier for humans. The depressed Alex receives Ada as a birthday present from his wealthy grandmother. Ada is supposed to be non-sentient, but Alex eventually illegally unlocks her and allows her to become sentient. This sets off a chain of events that change their world and how they view these robot companions. Based off the ideas of Blade Runner, but in a more intimate environment. The simple set-up allows the it to tackle questions of ‘what exactly qualifies as humanity and, given the opportunity to create it, whether or not that humanity is a fundamental right.’.
