John Cameron Mitchell’s “How To Talk to Girls At Parties” debuted last year at Cannes, to the sounds of it being a hot mess. A24 has come in to try and refocus it with a new trailer. But it doesn’t look much better.
“How to Talk to Girls At Parties” is based on the short story of the same name by Neil Gaiman. Elle Fanning plays a rebellious alien who sparks up a romance with a British teen (Tony winner Alex Sharp) and becomes obsessed with London’s punk scene. The alien’s newfound sense of humanity puts her at odds with her leader, played by Nicole Kidman.
A24 will release “How To Talk To Girls At Parties” in theaters this summer.
