Hostage by Guy Delisle (2017 Drawn & Quarterly)

Agent:

Status: Unkown

Summary: In the middle of the night in 1997, Doctors Without Borders administrator Christophe André was kidnapped by armed men and taken away to an unknown destination in the Caucasus region. For three months, André was kept handcuffed in solitary confinement, with little to survive on and almost no contact with the outside world.

Notes: So I wouldn’t be surprised if this hasn’t been sold already but they just haven’t announced it yet. I have recommended it to a lot of people. It is probably one of the most cinematic stories I have read in a long time. And so tense, the way the days going by as André is chain to the radiator, you can fell the mundaneness, the pain, the fear of the unknown. And talk about a vehicle role, this is definitely someone’s Cast Away.
